Glob patterns are simple pattern matching, as used in windows and in unix shells:
- * Matches zero or more of any character
- ? Matches one character ONLY.
For example ca? will match cat or cab, but not calf or calm. c* will match all of cat, cab, calf or callous, but not balloon.
Simple, and effective.
Where IP addresses are being matched, you may specify a CIDR notation mask, for example:
would match all users in the range 22.214.171.124 through 126.96.36.199.
CIDR notation may be used in connect allow and deny, channel bans, channel exceptions, klines, glines, zlines, elines, link tag allowmasks, and more. In general, if it can be used to match a range of IPs, CIDR can be used.
